The Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa is a 10-year program aimed at attracting foreign individuals seeking long-term relocation to Thailand, with the goal of boosting overseas investment and economic growth. This visa grants a 10-year stay, allowing holders to live and work in Thailand. It provides benefits such as healthcare access, education options, and banking privileges.
LTR Visa Categories
The Thailand LTR Visa is available in four categories:
- Wealthy Global Citizens: For financially stable individuals
- Wealthy Pensioners: Tailored for retirees with financial security
- Work-From-Thailand Professionals: Suited for remote workers
- Highly-Skilled Professionals: Designed for experts in various fields
LTR Visa holders can also bring up to four family members, including a spouse and children under 20, who will qualify for the same visa category, ensuring family unity during their long-term stay in Thailand.

Application Process
LTR Visa Application Steps Overview from Application submission to visa issuance
Application Submission - Register and submit online an application for qualifications endorsement and supporting documents for LTR Visa.
Qualifications Endorsement - After receiving complete and valid documents, the application will be registered and sent for the qualification’s endorsement by relevant agencies (such as Immigration, Thailand’s Board of Investment, the Department of Consular Affairs, etc.). Applicants will be notified of the qualifications endorsement result within 20 working days (processing time might take longer if additional documents are requested).
Applicants may be requested additional documents/information to support the consideration of the government agencies during this process.
LTR Timeline/Visa Issuance
The current employer must be a public company on the stock exchange or a private company in operation for at least 3 years with combined revenue of at least USD 150 million in the last 3 years; Personal income of a minimum of 80,000 USD/year in the past 2 years.
In case of having personal income only between USD 40,000 to USD 80,000/ year in the past 2 years, the applicant must have a Master’s degree or above or own intellectual property or receive Series A funding of no less than USD 1 million. Must present a health insurance policy covering medical expenses in Thailand of no less than USD 50,000. The remaining coverage period shall not be less than 10 months on the date of the application OR provide evidence of savings of at least USD 100,000 held in a Thai or overseas bank account for no less than 12 months before the date of application.
